DIY Dry Erase Board
I love lists. If I don't have a list going, I never get anything done. I always seem to have a million things on the go with constant distractions, so If I don't jot down an idea that pops into my head, or write down that I need to pick up bread at the grocery store, it's gone from my mind within 60 seconds! Which brings me to my next problem.....I always have a ton of papers scattered about with all my lists on them!
Solution: DIY Dry Erase board. Pretty, functional and re-writable!
This is how I start my day...I get up and showered before the kids wake up, then sit down with my cup of coffee and plan my day with a clear head before I start hearing 'MOMMAAAY'!! So I made this one to write down my daily to-do list and put it on a picture stand so it is always front and center. Now I don't have to search the house wondering where I put my list! (I'm a total scatter-brain at times, if you couldn't tell already!) It was so quick and easy....here's how I made mine!
I started with a picture frame with a glass front. (Yes! You CAN use dry erase markers on glass!! Tip...I use Magic Erasers to easily erase the marker) I picked up this one at a garage sale for $1!
I then took it apart and painted the frame a fun blue using acrylic craft paint. I needed to put on a couple of coats to hide the darker colour underneath.
I had some linen left over from my Linen Covered Cork Board project, so I decided to wrap the mat with the linen fabric to pretty it up.
To do this, I just cut the linen slightly larger than the mat, mitred the corners, then used my hot glue gun to glue the linen into place on the back of the mat.
I used some scrapbook paper for the background and to embellish it, and voila! A pretty, customisable Dry Erase Board!
I linked my project up to these fabulous linky parties! Head on over to check out some more great projects!
