Simple DIY teacher gift idea

 Hey all! The end of the school year is fast approaching here in KY, and I wanted to share a quick and simple teacher gift idea. I made these for my kids teachers back in December and gave them out as Christmas gifts, but they are also a great idea for end of the year gifts too.

 I bought these canvas book bags at Micheals. I think they came in a pack of 3, and after my coupon they ended up only being a few dollars a piece.

When I made these, the 'Keep Calm' printables were all the rage, so I jumped on the bandwagon and created my own design pertaining to teachers. My computer had crashed soon after this, and although I recovered all my documents, I can't seem to find a copy of the printable I made or I would for sure share it with all of you!

After I created my printable in Microsoft Word, (but you could use any editing software) and printed it out on transfer paper for COLORED fabrics, also available at Micheal's.

 After it was printed out, I then cut the paper to the size/shape that I wanted it to be. (With the image transfers for colored fabric, the entire sheet gets permanently transferred on to the fabric, so make sure to cut away any of the paper you DO NOT want on your bag!)

Follow the application directions on the transfer paper, and in a few short minutes, your bag is done!

 I rolled the bags up, tied with a ribbon and attached a gift card to a local book store. (But forgot to take a picture of it apparently!) But there are so many great ideas that you could do to fill these bags!

• Add a towel, some sunscreen and a few good gossip magazines to get ready for summer vacation!
• Fill with a checkered blanket and some of your favorite packaged foods for a fun summer picnic.
• or just pop a pretty bouquet of flowers in the bag along with a summer romance novel.

The ideas are endless!
