Happenings Lately...
These first few weeks of summer have been busy! If you have been following along via Instagram or Facebook, you would have seen little snippets of whats been going on behind the scenes over at Just The Bee's Knees. But in case you missed me & have been wondering what I've been up to, lets catch up, shall we?!
First of all, my oldest son graduated from pre-school and is headed off to Kindergarten next year. I'm happy and sad all at the same time. He is SO excited to be starting this new chapter, but I cant believe he is growing so fast and we have reached this milestone already. Here's a snapshot of our family right before the ceremony.
It's impossible to get all of us looking at the camera at the same time! At least 3 out of 4 ain't bad.
Carson celebrated his 4th Birthday and I celebrated my 30 something birthday last week. We were born on the same day:)
Every year for my kids birthday, I make them a special t-shirt to wear. This year Carson wanted a Hot Wheels party, so a Hot Wheels shirt it was!
The weather finally started to behave long enough for us to do some much needed landscaping maintenance and plant my veggie garden. You can see a little tour of my backyard here.
I just have a small garden patch where I plant fresh herbs, a few varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, beans and lettuce. There's nothing better than stepping out your back door to pick your dinner!
We also have some strawberry plants in our little garden. Last year the birds at ALL of them, so this year I was bound & determined to keep them out of our yummy fruit patch. I bought some nets form Lowes and they worked like a charm! We've been enjoying fresh strawberries for breakfast every morning for the past week, although I didn't forsee the birds actually getting caught in the net. My husband had to rescue a poor robin the other day that was scared half to death after the kids discovered him all tangled up.
Flea Market season is underway! I went to my first one of the season and picked up a little something for a gallery wall I am planning in my front hall. (It's not in the picture below, but has a little something to do with the state we live in. Any guesses?!)
This happened about a month ago, but we got our Kitchen Backsplash installed! I'm completely in LOVE with it! This picture was taken right after it was tiled, and before we sealed it. The next step in our mini kitchen makeover is to paint, which I am hoping to do really soon, like this weekend! Maybe.
The Boys Bathroom project is 99% done! The panels & trim are painted, I just have to hang a few more things and look for that one last final piece of wall art I am missing. You know how you have something you want in your head, but just cant seem to find it?!
And in some much sadder news....my computer crashed :((((
At least I can keep blogging since we have a little old laptop that is still functioning, just a bit slow. Unfortunately, I have to wait until we can sweep the old hard drive to get all of my photos and files off of it. (Cross your fingers all is not lost!!)
We have always had Dell PC's, but now that all the rest of my devices are Apple, I'm thinking our new computer might have to be too. I'd love your input! What kind of computer do you have? PC or laptop? Pros and cons of using a Mac verses PC? In the meantime, I'll keep plugging away the best I can from this dinosaur.
