Trendy Tuesday ~ Layered Rugs
Gone are the days of bare hardwood floors and plain wall to wall carpet. The current trend in floor coverings seems to be more is more. Rugs are being layered in all kinds of combinations! But similar to mixing patterns, mixing area rugs can be a bit tricky. Lets take a look at some fabulous images of spaces that nailed the layered look, and learn foolproof tips & ticks on how you can master this latest trend.
Tip #1. Use a natural Sisal or Jute as a base layer
Any kind of rug can go over sisal or jute. Its the perfect neutral color and adds extra texture and warmth. Layer with a beautiful Kilim rug, Graphic patterned rug, or just another neutral rug in a different shape, size or texture.

Tip #4. Get bold with an Animal Print
The layered look with the animal hides has to be my favorite so far. They are so versatile and can go with just about any decor style from Traditional to Eclectic, and Modern to Country. They mix and match beautifully with the most intricate of Oriental rugs to the most bold and graphic contemporary styles. Check out how these hides punch up the space and deliver the rooms WOW factor.
