Trendy Tuesday ~ Pantone's Color(s) of The Year 2016

I always look forward to hearing what Pantone dubs their "Color of the Year" as its usually right on trend with whats happening in the world of fashion and decor, and its a great way to start my Trendy Tuesday series for the year. Past colors of the year have included Marsala (2015), Radiant Orchid (2014), Emerald (2013) and Tangerine Tango (2012). This year was a big surprise as Pantone announced for the first time ever not only one, but two colors of the year! They are Rose Quartz and Serenity.

The warm pink and cool blue tones are a match made in heaven. I've actually been crushing on blush tones for a while now so I'm tickled pink (ha! get it?! Corny I know...couldn't resist) about this years choice.

Lets take a look at how these two colors are being used together in interiors.

I love that this color combo has a feminine feel, but its not too over the top. Even the pale pink walls in photo #4 are offset with a more masculine looking sofa.

What do you think of Pantones choices for color of the year?! Are you shushing on the Rose Quartz like I am?! As much as Im loving it, I think I might have to add it in small doses to my home, since I do live with a house full of boys:)
