Creepy Halloween Door Knocker
I wanted to create something to hang on my front door for halloween that wasn't a wreath. Don't get me wrong, I love a good wreath, but I just wanted to do something out of the ordinary. So this is what I came up with.....
What do you think?!?
The whole project cost me under $5. Here's what I used: I found the door knocker and the crepe cloth at The Dollar Tree and the frame at the Goodwill. I was looking for more of a garish, gaudy ornate frame, but couldn't find one, so I thought this will just have to do. I gave the frame just a light coat of black chrome spray paint. I wanted a bit of the gold to show through to give it a bit of an antiqued look.
As for the door knocker, I just added a quick coat of blue grey paint then immediately wiped it off to give it more of a weathered copper look. I added some black sparkle glue to the eyes then hot glued it onto the backing which I made out of sparkly craft paper and the crepe cloth.
Enter....if you dare!
