Encouraging those EUREKA! moments with Graham & Brown
Last month, I announced that I am the newest Brand Ambassador for Graham & Brown, which means that every month, I will be discussing one of their trends. (And we all know how much love discussing trends!) Last month it was precious, and I shared how I turned some precious memories from Instagram into Wall Art. This month's trend is Eureka.
The trend is all about discovery, bold colors and creativity.
My boys are now 6 & 7, and just started 1st and 2nd grade. Which means this mama is now by herself ALL DAY. Not quite sure how I'm feeling about that yet. The days have been productive but VERY quiet! It will definitely take some getting used to! I'm very lucky that they both love going to school, and they are learning so much!! It's fun when they come home and share all they have learned throughout the day, and see their faces light up when working on their homework and something just clicks. Outside of school , I think it's equally as important to stimulate their minds and help them create more of those "Eureka!" moments through play and discovery. And their spaces need to reflect their personality and spark creativity at the same time. This is something I really focused on when designing Carson's room 2 years ago.
He has grown so much over the last 2 years, but I'm happy say that he is still loving his room. I will be updating one little corner, and adding a desk and chair for him to do his homework on, but other than that, not much has changed.
One room that will be getting a bigger update however is the playroom. And with the help of Graham & Brown, it will be transformed into a fun room that they can play, discover, and hopefully have many more Eureka moments!
We have a red pull-out couch in the room, which is staying, but I plan on adding lots of black and white to the space with a few more small hints of color.
The Frames Wallpaper is one of my favorites from Graham & Brown and will work perfectly in this space! I might even encourage them to draw on it. Or maybe not:) Legos are huge at my house, so some sort of storage system is definitely a must. Tables on castors can be used as play tables, but easily rolled out of the way when they decide to fire up the Xbox with their friends. A chalkboard wall with a photo ledge above will be perfect for displaying their works of art. And it wouldn't be a fun playroom with out some super cool accessories! This Lit Star from Graham & Brown will be an awesome addition, plus these throw pillows give the couch a more of a grown up urban feel.
