3 Minor Upgrades Yielding Major Results for Your Home
Let's face it. Renovations are costly. Are they worth it? 100% yes. But if a major renovation isn't in the cards for you right now, here are 3 updates you can easily (and inexpensively) do that make a huge impact to the overall look and feel of your space.
Tip #1: Renew Each Room with a Fresh Coat of Paint
Never underestimate the power of paint. A fresh coat on the walls and trim will make the room instantly feel fresh and new again. Paint can also highlight a ceiling detail, create a bold accent wall, or even create the illusion of larger trim. Kitchen and bathroom cabinetry can also be updated with a fresh coat of paint (although I strongly recommend hiring a professional painter to refinish for longevity)
Tip #2: Spruce Up Each Space with New Lighting & Hardware
Old lighting and hardware can really date your home. (Think of the polished gold and crystal door knobs that were so popular 30-40 years ago!) New light fixtures can instantly transform a room, and updating hardware on your doors and cabinets will instantly bring your space into the current decade. Tip: Just make sure to measure the spacing on any cabinetry pulls before replacing to ensure the screw holes line up correctly.
Tip #3: Adorn Each Area with Updated Window Treatments & Furniture
Nothing can make a space look tired than old and outdated furniture and decor. Swapping out the furniture, drapery and rugs for fresh new options can make a huge impact. If buying all new furniture isn't in your budget right now, focus on the smaller pieces such as a new coffee and side tables, or new chairs for your dining room set.
