A Touch of Halloween
I was super late in putting up Halloween decorations this year and was tempted to skip it all together, but since we are hosting a Halloween party for my sons birthday this weekend, (and the kids were begging me!) I thought I would at least put the effort into decorating the main area of the house; the family room.
I didn't really do anything too drastically different from last year. Most of the decorations are the same, with the addition of a few shrunken skulls in glass jars that I picked up from Target.
I also created a small vignette on the sofa table with the same elements as the mantle. The creepy door knocker that broke is now 3D art, and an old and faded fake orchid stem got a fresh coat of black spray paint to up the spook factor.
The upstairs is ready for Halloween and the basement is being transformed into a super creepy kid friendly haunted house as we speak! Cole is ridiculously excited, so even if the decorations took a lot of work to put up for only a week, I knew it was well worth the effort when he hugged me last night and told me I was a "fun" Mom.
