MODERN BUILT-INS ~ NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
When we built our home, I knew I wanted to create a focal point in our Family Room with some custom built-ins. We also wanted a fireplace with the tv mounted above, and since my husband insisted on having a very large tv (marriage is all about compromise, am I right??) I needed to design something that accommodated his ginormous tv, but also looked balanced, and provided lots of storage for the kids games, movies, etc.
Here's the concept drawings I designed for the Contractor.
And here's the finished product.
I couldn't be happier with how they turned out! The door style and Handles co-ordinate perfectly with the Kitchen, and I'm even happier that we have loads of storage to hide all the kids games and dvd's, as well as provide a place to hide some of the tv components. There's even plugs hidden in behind the doors and just above the ledges so we can charge electronics. And can we talk about that slate for a moment?! Love.It.
